Wilmington is the largest city in the state of Delaware and is the county seat of New Castle County.  It is home to many visitor attractions and activities.  Here are five things you must do in Wilmington.

1. View paintings at the Brandywine River Museum.

This 19th Century Museum is housed in an antique gristmill and shares a large collection of Wyeth family art and numerous American illustrations, landscapes and still life art.  See paintings of all ages and styles.  Buy a print in the museum store.

2. Touch a dinosaur bone at the Delaware Museum of Natural History.

View natural history from dinosaurs to leopards and other animals of the world.  Enjoy dynamic exhibitions with skilled staff.  This place is perfect for children to see and explore.

3. Smell the lovely flowers at the Longwood Gardens.

This garden is located on over a thousand acres and is home to fabulous fountains and indoor conservatories.  Come in the winter for some indoor fun in one of the garden’s many indoor facilities.  

4. Sip wine at the Chaddsford Winery.

Go wine-tasting at this lovely estate winery and buy a batch to take home with you. This lovely estate features locally grown wine in several varieties. 

5. Take a cruise on a riverboat at the Christina River Boat Company.

Feel the wind on your face as you cruise the Brandywine and Christina Rivers with several stops along the way.  Moonlight and specialty cruises are available for those special trips.
