Seward is a town in Schoharie County, New York of the United States. The city is sparsely populated with the figures showing 1,637 according to the 2000 census. The town has been named after Senator/Governor/Secretary of State William H. Seward. The earliest records of settlement date back to 1754 near Seward Village. However, the town got its present face in 1840.

1. Pay a visit to Clove: Clove is a small settlement in the southeast part of Seward in County Road 63. The name ‘Clove’ symbolizes the corrupt attitude of the Dutch Klauver Kloof depicting ‘clover valley’.

2. Visit the Cherry Township: The Cherry Township comprises both the village and the town part. The village was established in 1740 and later became famous for the Cherry Valley Massacre during the American Revolution. The town is located in the northeast corner of the county.

3. Explore the ancient town of Sharon: The town is named for a location in Connecticut from where it is believed some early inhabitants came. The town also was involved in the surge of bloody wars of the American Revolution. The town dates its first settlement back to 1780, then known as New Dorlach.
