2. Local Museums: The Long Island Museum of American Art is home to a brilliant collection of art pieces that have received much acclaim. 3. Grist Mill of Stony Brook: The Mill is a historic site and is Long Island’s fully equipped Grist Mill. 4. The Stony Brook University: The University is a great learning center and fosters research and education in different walks of life. The music departments regularly host productions of famous scores such as Messiah and operas are also produced from this university.
5. Cruise in the Wetlands in Discovery: The boat named Discovery of the Ward Melville Heritage Organization takes the visitors on a cruise of the wetlands. The wetland is spread over an area of 88 acres and there is also the University’s Marine Sciences Center on the boat to give more information on the natural life of the wetlands to the visitors.
