The city of Thorndale is nestled among many historical locations, as well as gardens and culture. Many important battle sites and museums are just minutes away from this small Pennsylvania town.

1. Visit a battle site: Re-live one of the largest battles of the Revolutionary War at the Brandywine Battlefield Historic Site. The historical park features a Visitor Center and museum, as well as a gift shop. While at the site, be sure to visit both George Washington’s and Lafayette’s Headquarters, and be sure to enjoy a picnic lunch on the grounds.

2. Track America’s development:: Trace Americas roots during the Industrialization period with the Hopewell Furnace. This site, among many others set the foundation for the iron and steel industry in early America, and many historical building still stand and are open for tours.

5. Visit Valley Forge: Learn about the role Valley Forge plays in the Revolutionary War by visiting the Valley Forge National Historical Park, and hear stories of soldiers and leaders that made a difference even in the time of war.
