5 Things You Must Do in Colorado SpringsSituated in the shadows of Pike’s Peak, one of the most famous American mountains, much of Colorado Springs’ tourism is brought to the area by its unique landscape. Here are a few things you shouldn’t leave Colorado Springs without seeing. 1. Visit the Garden of the Gods. Along with the conglomerate sandstone hogback formations for which the Garden of the Gods is famous, the park also features various walking, biking, hiking and horse riding trails. See the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. Although these are not original structures created by the ancient Pueblo tribe, they are accurate representations of the homes of these native peoples. Ride the Manitou and Pike’s Peak Railway to the top of the famous mountain. In peak tourism months four to six trains each day carry visitors on a scenic journey to the top of Pike’s Peak.
