Nicknamed the “furniture city” because of the fine furniture manufactured in the city during the last half of the 19th century Grand Rapids is still well known for building office furniture. Even if you aren’t looking for furniture, there is still a great many things of interest in Grand Rapids. Here are a few of these points of interest.

1. Visit the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum- The exhibits of this museum allow visitors to learn about the life and presidency of Gerald R. Ford. While there visitors can also pay their respects to the late president by visiting his tomb which is located on the grounds of the museum.

2. John Ball Zoological Garden- This urban park features a zoo which is home to more than 200 species of animals including mammals, fish and reptiles. 3. Tour the Voigt House Victorian Museum-. If you like the Victorian style, you’ll love touring this 1895 Victorian mansion full of original furnishings.
