3. Visit Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World: Mardi Gras World features the unconventional artwork of the famed float artist Blaine Kern. It also includes the 140 foot Leviathan float that is still considered one of the greatest floats of all times. It is located across the River Walk marketplace near Chalmette.

4. Tour America's Aquatic Gardens: The Aquatic Garden features a peaceful sanctuary with live water animals and magnificent fountains. The garden also features aquatic reeds, grasses, and water lilies. You can visit this park which is located south of Washington Park.

5. Visit Chalmette National Historical Park: This is one of the oldest national parks located in Chalmette, Louisiana. The Park marks the significance of the victory of General Jackson over the British forces in 1815. The national park has more than one thousand graves of the union soldiers of the civil war.
