Hamden is a lovely town in the state of Connecticut, United States, located more exactly in New Haven County, being also a suburb of the city of New Haven. The history of Hamden goes back to 1638, when it was purchased by Theophilus Eaton and John Davenport from the Quinnipiack Native American tribe. In 1786, Hamden became incorporated as a town and it was named after John Hampden, an English statesman.
