1.  Check out Jackalope.  Known as a “world of curiosities”, Jackalope is a unique shopping experience for Santa Fe visitors.  It features international folk art, Christmas ornaments, pottery and rugs, as well as a prairie dog village, an animal barn, a plant nursery, a furniture store, a Mercado, and a café. 

2. Ride on the Santa Fe Railway.   Take a ride on the famous Santa Fe Southern Railway along the original high-desert route that carried early tourist adventurers, settlers, artists and scientists into the city.  The 36-mile roundtrip between Santa Fe and Lemy often has special events and barbeques, too.
 
3.  Visit the Santa Fe National Forest.  The Santa Fe National Forest has campgrounds, hiking and fishing for the nature lover.  Among the points of interest are a series of natural springs and thermal pools, as well as large rock formations.

4. The Awakenings Museum.  Art enthusiasts will enjoy the Awakenings Museum, a work of art made up of over 400 wood panels that were carved and painted by renowned artist Jean-Claude Gaugy.  The display literally fills the ceiling and walls of its home and is a common space used for artists and visitors to find inspiration.

5.Saint Francis Cathedral.   St. Francis Cathedral was recently given Basilica status by Pope Benedict XVI in 2005.  The cathedral, built between 1869 and 1886 after the Pueblo Revolts destroyed the previous church, is a tribute to the French Romanesque architectural style.
