Nashville Car Rental

Land of cowboys and toe tappin'

There’s only one place to start when a person talks about Nashville, Tennessee, and that’s music.

This city is the country music Mecca of the world and the rest of the world knows it.

The whole city revolves around its inhabitant’s talents and Nashville has created an artistic air about the town, which obviously is a huge hit with tourists and country music lovers alike. Nashville is famous for producing and harboring world famous artists like, Johnny Cash, Jimi Hendrix, Willie Nelson, Faith Hill, Aaron Neville, Roy Orbison, Ben Folds, Alan Jackson, Dolly Parton and Shania Twain. How’s that for a list!

To commemorate such people, The Country Music Association (CMA) holds an annual June festival for country music that spans celebrations over not one, but four whole days. That’s taking your country music very seriously indeed. During the four days musicians and artists perform, sign autographs and interact with fans.

Forget your horse, a cheap Nashville car rental is much faster and less bumpy!

One of the best country music sights and tourist traps in Nashville is the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum for its history for the music genre and its large array of plaques honoring the artists that have progressed country music on a large scale.

The Ryman Auditorium (right) is a major play house where you can not only see country music concerts but you can also be front stage for contemporary and modern music performances. Everyone from Tori Amos to Elvis Presley to Orson Welles to Bruce Springsteen have performed on their stage, a stage which also debuted Johnny Cash! For many years the Ryman was the site of the Grand Ole Opry, a national Saturday night radio program that plays live performances every week.

Music? Is that it?

But that’s not all there is to Nashville, the best of this city includes parks and retreats, hot spots for a cocktail or two, cafes, sporting grounds and art galleries.

The Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art is a must see, the old Cheek family estate has been reinvented in to a luxurious hilltop sprawl boasting a ridiculous amount of gardens, and on the grounds a Georgian mansion accommodates Nashville's premier art museum.

Park and garden lovers can also have a grassy nap in the lush greens of Radnor Lake State Natural Area (right), while hikers can scurry about with the nature lovers in its forest. There’s an 85 acre lake and loads of wildlife to observe, plus many areas are dog friendly which is a major bonus.

Home of the Nashville Titans, the Coliseum features 67, 000 seats in its natural grass stadium and claims there isn’t a bad seat amongst them! But if you sit high enough, you get a great view of the city…

Native Nutrition

Out of the way is the Loveless Café if you’re in the market for some local food, southern style. The food is great, every table gets a plate of their famous biscuits with preserves, and the walls are lined with celebrity photos of country music stars. This quaint café is mighty popular, so book your table ahead of time. Try the country ham with red- eye gravy, and you can get your eggs made to order.

If you want a night out, the Virago scores a good 9 out of 10 in the ‘best of Nashville’ polls. Part upscale restaurant, part sushi bar, part midnight hot spot, the Virago is one of those places where you go just to be seen. But don’t get nervous yet about the idea of dressing up, the atmosphere and food are well worth it (and some nights have discounts on the sushi).

If you’re not into the uber- chic movement, maybe somewhere else is more for you. Bound’ry is a local favorite, famous for cosy heat lamps in the colder months, murals and mosaics on the walls and truly decent food on the menu. It can be found at 911 20th Avenue South.

From one club to another, don't risk sore feet or an empty wallet from cab fares. We can help you find the cheapest price for your very own rental car. All that extra money can buy you a new cowboy hat!
