Vroomin' Good Times

September has flown by like a whirlwind! It only seems like yesterday that the last newsletter went out to all of our fabulous readers. For Vroom Vroom Vroom the month was packed to the rafters with School Holiday makers booking out everything in sight!

We also saw the return of Richard, one of the company's owners who has been working tirelessly in Las Vegas since May setting up our US Office - I think there has been some leisure too, the sights have not gone unseen!

There was a wedding in the office (well not in the actual office space) complete with a fire twirler and lolly buffet, and the honeymoon of another staff member (jetting off to Rome). Oh, and the swearing in of our new office mascot Hugo (well he is only temporary, he is a gorgeous little puppy who is learning the ropes at the Vroom Office).

A Vroomin' Good Yarn

Last month we received a number of fantastic road trip adventures from our readers. There was one in particular we thought we would share, as it is a great testament for investing in extra protection for your car hire. Thanks Lori for sharing your car hire adventure;

 Hi, just thought I would share the following with all of you world travelers! We rented a Toyota Camry while we were in Alice Springs, Australia to drive out and see Ayer's Rock. This beautiful car had a grand total of 23 kilometers on it. Needless to say it had not a single scratch on it.

According to the car rental contract we were allowed to drive from 7 in the morning till 7 at night, this was due to the volume of Kangaroo's along the way after night fall. We were 10 minutes from our destination when a big red bounced out in front of us at 6:35 pm.. My husband was driving at well below the speedlimit but still had no chance to stop. Of course the kangaroo can not change direction in mid hop so..., yup, bang!

My husband was sick over the damage to the car, I was sick over the damage to the roo. We carried on to our destination, stayed the night, saw the sunrise at the rock and headed back to Alice Springs. The people at the rental agency were fantastic! We had taken out the extra insurance for a cost of $83. It was well worth the $83 as it cost us nothing for this unfortunate accident. The agents simply said, "No worries, it happens all the time."

We were in such a rush to just get this incident behind us that we forgot our reserve money pouch in the trunk! Believe it or not, we called them, they called the body repair shop, they called us back and yes, they found our money! We live in Canada and two months later every single penny came in the mail! We did indeed reward each one of the three wonderful people for their total and complete honesty, any of them could have easily said, nope, no money and pocketed the $1100 for themselves.

The other bit of good news is, we missed the wild camel that pranced out in front of us two miles down the road from the roo. Honest to God, true story!
