The below T&Cs (including prices and taxes) are provided by Payless Car Rental and may change without notice to VroomVroomVroom.

This quote includes:

• All taxes, airport taxes and surcharges if applicable
• Stated mileage amount (generally unlimited, see below for extra mileage charges)
• Vehicle Registration fee
• All vehicle fees related to the booking e.g. Vehicle drop fees, all recovery fees, premium location fees, corporate location fees wherever applicable.

This quote will not include:

• Fuel
• Insurance (See next paragraph*)
• Child seats or booster seats (can be purchased after confirmation for generally $7.00 US per day).
• An age surcharge of $20-$25 per day for renters under 25 years of age.
• Any extras signed up for upon arrival, e.g GPS etc

* Important information about car rental insurance

For US citizens

Some US credit cards and personal car insurance policies do provide car rental insurance so please check with your credit card provider and personal auto insurance policy for details.

Visiting the US from another country

It is illegal to drive in the US without car insurance. Your travel insurance probably only covers the excess so check the fine print in your travel insurance policy.

ADDITIONAL DRIVER

Additional drivers must meet the minimum age requirements, present a valid photo drivers license and credit card in his/her own name. All location policies that apply to the renter will also apply. Cost varies at each location.

AGE REQUIREMENT

Renter must be 25 years of age with a valid photo driver's license and major credit card in his/her own name.
Ages 21-24 add an additional $20-$25 per day surcharge all car types. Underage surcharge will not appear in total pricing. (prices vary at each depot -refer the location link above for full details)

CREDIT CARD QUALIFICATION

The credit card and valid drivers' license must be in the same name.
The following are accepted forms of payment:

Carte Blanche
Japanese Credit Bureau

CREDIT CARD HOLD

The estimated amount of the rental or a minimum of $150.00, whichever is greater, will be charged against your credit card at the time of rental. Unused funds, if any, will be returned by the credit card processer. It may take 2-5 days for the credit to appear on your account.

DEBIT CARDS

DEBIT CARD QUALIFICATION
Debit cards accepted at time of rental when presented with the return flight segment of a round trip airline ticket. Return segment can be presented in the form of the actual ticket or an electronic ticket. A copy of the ticket will be attached to the original rental document and retained at the location. PRE PAID MASTERCARDs are NOT ACCEPTED at time of rental. These can only be used for payment upon return. The debit card and valid drivers' license must be in the same name.

DEBIT CARD HOLD

The estimated amount of the rental plus an additional amount of $250.00 will be charged against your debit card at the time of rental. These funds will no longer be available for your immediate use and may take up to 14 days, depending on your bank, to become available. We will not be responsible for any returned check(s) or insufficient fund charges or bank fees related to this process.

COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER

If you do not purchase Collision Damage Waiver, you are responsible for all damage to the rented vehicle.

If you purchase Collision Damage Waiver, we will waive all, or a portion of, our right to collect from you for damage to the rented vehicle caused by collision or upset. The amount of your responsibility varies according to the type of vehicle you rent. We will not waive our right to collect for comprehensive losses such as fire, theft, vandalism, flood, hail, or acts of God. In addition there are other exclusions from Collision Damage Waiver. Please read the back of the Payless Rental Agreement for a complete list of exclusions.

CDW is optional; your personal auto policy may or may not cover damage to the rented vehicle. Check with your insurer if you are uncertain.

FUEL POLICIES

OPTION #1 BUY A TANK
Vehicle is rented with a full tank. Purchase a full tank of fuel at the time of rental, bring the vehicle back with fuel at any level. Credit will not be issued for unused fuel.

OPTION #2 WE FILL THE TANK
Vehicle is rented with a full tank. Bring the vehicle back full to avoid a charge or Payless will refuel your vehicle based on the miles driven or level of the tank. A refueling service fee will apply per gallon.

GEOGRAPHICAL LIMITATIONS/RESTRICTIONS

Travel permitted within California, Nevada, and Arizona with unlimited mileage. Vehicles may not leave these 3 states.

GRACE PERIOD

Rental is based on a 24-hour period. The client receives a 59-minute grace period. If he/she keeps the vehicle after this time, an hourly rate will apply from minute one.

HOLD POLICY

It is the policy of Payless to have the confirmed vehicle available for calendar day of the scheduled arrival. If your reservation is for arrival within the last hour of operation and your flight is delayed, the location is required to remain open for an additional hour to accommodate late arrivals. Should you arrive after this time, Payless will hold your vehicle for pick up until 9:00 am the next morning.

REQUIREMENTS AND RESTRICTIONS

All drivers must meet the renting location's minimum age requirements, have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and present a major credit card in his/her own name at the time of rental. See also age, driver's license, driving records, and credit cards.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR RENTERS FROM COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES

• Must have a valid driver’s license from renters/drivers country of origin.
• Must have a valid passport.
• Must have a valid international driver’s license if the driver’s license of origin is not in Roman alphabet.
• Payless requires written proof in English of liability insurance covering injury to third persons or their property and collision and comprehensive insurance covering any Payless vehicle while on rent. Written proof should include the name and address of the insurer and the policy number

EARLY OR LATE RETURN

The confirmed rental rate applies only to the exact reservation period specified. The rate is subject to a daily surcharge if you return the vehicle before or after the due date or to a different office.

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (prices vary at each depot -refer the location link above for full details)

Roadside Assistance Program, October 1, 2008
If you purchase our Roadside Service Plan (RSP) we will waive all, or a portion of, the cost of a roadside assistance service call up to the amount of $400.00 per incident. You may purchase RSP at $2.99 per rental day. Benefits include emergency road service towing, winching, jump start, flat tire change, lockout service and emergency fuel delivery. LIABILITY INSURANCE (prices vary at each depot -refer the location link for full details)

When you rent a vehicle from this Payless location, your personal automobile liability insurance is primary in the event of injury, death or property damage to third persons or their property arising from the use of the rental vehicle. If you do not have personal auto liability insurance, we offer optional insurance products that provide liability coverage:

a) Renter''s Liability Insurance Protection: (RLI) $12.99 day; provides primary coverage for liability losses up to the California statutory minimum; and,

b) Supplemental Liability Insurance Protection: (SLI) $11.99 per day; provides supplemental liability coverage to $1million.

These products may be purchased at your option. Neither is a requirement for the rental of a Vehicle.

PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE/EFFECTS COVERAGE (prices vary at each depot -refer the location link above for full details)

PAC/PAI/PEC - $6.50 per day, $9.99 per day for vans

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI/PAC):
By purchasing optional PAI/PAC, you and your passengers are insured against bodily injury, some medical payments and accidental death while occupying the rental vehicle, subject to all the terms, provisions, and exclusions of a group policy. PAC/PAI costs vary by Payless location.

Personal Effects Coverage (PEC):
PEC provides coverage up to actual cash value for the loss of personal property in your possession during the rental period, subject to the provisions, terms and exclusions of a group policy. PEC costs vary by Payless location.
