Useful information on Colorado Springs and rental cars

Colorado Springs is a beautiful city that sits at the foot of Pikes Peak, along the eastern edge of the U.S.A.'s Southern Rockies.

We list all of the great Colorado Springs car rental deals available from Avis, Budget, Enterprise and Hertz, and allow you to compare low prices in order to find the best deal on a vehicle you'll actually enjoy driving!

Colorado Springs is in the geographic middle of the state of Colorado, and is elevated over 6 thousand feet above sea level. About 425 thousand people live in this city, with another 200 thousand in its suburbs.

One great reason to book a rental car for a trip to Colorado Springs is that it's a vast urban area, with over 190 square miles of land inside the city limits. It's also about an hour's drive north on Interstate 25 in your affordable Colorado Springs car rental to reach Denver, the state's capital and largest city.

Travelers going to Colorado Springs often land at Colorado Springs Municipal Airport. In Colorado, only Denver International Airport is busier (by passenger traffic). It may be wise for you to book a Colorado Springs car rental at the Municipal, then drive into the city or to your appointments in the area.

When you have a car hire, you can explore all the attractions and eat at any of the fine restaurants in this wonderful western town! To see the most spectacular geologic formations in Colorado Springs, hop into your affordable car rental and drive to Garden of the Gods. It's a wonderful place to see not only rock formations, but also wildlife and vegetation, also! Likewise, Red Rock Canyon is another of the state's amazing natural wonders.

Another popular tourist destination is the nearby mountain called Pikes Peak. You can also park your car rental and take the Cog Railway for added fun! If you're an animal lover, you'll probably love the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Featuring everything from a komodo dragon to baby meerkats, and called “eclectic and unique” by reviewers, this zoo is a top-ranked attraction in Colorado Springs!

When you've seen enough of the great outdoors, a trip to the symphony may be in order! The Colorado Springs Philharmonic is this city's best classical music attraction – and your car rental gives you the freedom to take in a show any night you're in Colorado Springs!

5 Things You Must Do in Colorado Springs

Situated in the shadows of Pike's Peak, one of the most famous American mountains, much of Colorado Springs' tourism is brought to the area by its unique landscape. Here are a few things you shouldn't leave Colorado Springs without seeing.

1. Visit the Garden of the Gods. Along with the conglomerate sandstone hogback formations for which the Garden of the Gods is famous, the park also features various walking, biking, hiking and horse riding trails.

2. Tour the Cave of the Winds. Tours of this complex of caves located just west of Colorado Springs are given daily. During the tours, you can not only experience the beauty of the caves, but can also learn stories of their history.

3. See the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. Although these are not original structures created by the ancient Pueblo tribe, they are accurate representations of the homes of these native peoples.

4. Climb to the top of Seven Falls. A series of 224 steps takes you from the base to the top of this series of seven waterfalls. Once there, you can admire the view from the top of the falls by crossing a foot bridge situated over the moving water.

5. Ride the Manitou and Pike's Peak Railway to the top of the famous mountain. In peak tourism months four to six trains each day carry visitors on a scenic journey to the top of Pike's Peak.
