Galveston is a beautiful coastal city located in the state of Texas, more exactly on Galveston Island, being at the same time the county seat of Galveston County. The history of Galveston goes back to 1816, when the first European settlements were constructed in the area. The name of Galveston comes from the Count of Galvez, Bernardo de Galvez y Madrid. Galveston was then incorporated in 1839 and its development started immediately. Now, there are 47.743 people living in Galveston, making it the second most populous city in the county. Galveston is nicknamed 'The Oleander City', due to the large number of oleanders that grow here. Also, Galveston has a very developed tourism industry, because many people come to visit this city every year.
Moody Gardens is one of the most amazing tourist complexes you will ever see. This complex is renown mainly for its pyramid attractions.
