Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport is located 7 miles from downtown Atlanta and is the busiest airport in the world according to Business Insider. It has a mind-boggling 207 gates, and there are several different options for travelers who are leaving this airport, including trains, buses, shuttle services, taxis, and of course, rental cars.
At Atlanta International Airport, all of the car rental operations operate off-site at the Rental Car Center. This is where you will pick up (and later drop off) your car at one of 13 providers, including Advantage Rent A Car, Alamo, Avis, Budget Car Rental, Dollar Rent A Car, Enterprise, EZ Rent a Car, Hertz, National, Payless, and Thrifty.
Hartsfield-Jackson's Rental Car Center makes the process very easy. To get there, simply leave the baggage claim area and follow the overhead and hallway signs. You'll proceed out of the terminal building's West end, under a covered walkway, and take an escalator to the ATL SkyTrain. Expect to wait 3-10 minutes for the next train. It's a 5-minute ride aboard SkyTrain to reach the Rental Car Center. It's worth noting that SkyTrain also takes travelers to the Georgia International Convention Center before reaching the R.C.C.
