Dartmouth is a lovely community area located in Nova Scotia, Canada. Nicknamed the City of Lakes, Dartmouth has a surface of 22.61 square miles and a population of more than 65,700 residents, according to the 2001 census. First founded in 1750, Dartmouth was incorporated as a city in 1961. In 1996, the city was dissolved, but the name of the area was maintained. Dartmouth is home to the shopping district of Dartmouth Crossing, but the city is also known for hosting the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in 1997 and 2009.
