Chardon Square was built on land donated by Peter Chardon Brooks. He is considered to be one of the 100 most rich Americans, leaving behind, at his death a huge fortune. In Chardon Square you can see the fabulous building of the Geauga County Courthouse. Although the original courthouse burned in the famous fire, another one was built exactly in the same place and that is the one existing today.
Chardon Lakes Golf Course is a golf course with a history of over 70 years. It opened in 1931 and it was designed as a 9 holes course by architect Bert Way. In 1963, the golf course got bigger with 9 new holes. The course is designed to be perfect for all golfers, pros or beginners. The city view is wonderful from this place, so even if you are not a golf passionate it still deserves a visit.
Sand Ridge Golf Club is the youngest course within Chardon, being opened in 1998. On this course approximately 12.000 golf rounds per year were played in the last years.
