Crofton is a wonderful community located in the state of Maryland, more exactly in Anne Arundel County. This census-designated place was established quite recently, in 1964. Crofton is 20 miles east of Washington D.C., 20 miles south of Baltimore and 15 miles west of Annapolis. With these large cities in close proximity, no wonder that Crofton has developed a lot.
Now, there are 27.348 people living in Crofton, according to the 2010 census. No wonder, thus, that Money Magazine designated Crofton in 2005 as one of the 100 best places to live in the United States. In 2011, Crofton made the top once again. This is why more and more people are choosing to live in this relatively anonymous place, but which offers great amenities and numerous recreational opportunities. Top Attractions within Crofton

Linthicum Walks
is one of the greatest landmarks of Crofton. This 18th century complex is a historic home and farm complex, which you can visit if you want to learn more about the history and traditions of the place. The tobacco house you can find here is one of the oldest ones in the country, and one of the few that still exists today. No wonder, thus, that Linthicum Walks is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Katcef Archeological Site
is only a stone throw away from Crofton, but it is definitely worth seeing. The side displays a wonderful collection of historic items, dating mostly from the Paleoindian, Late Woodland and Late Archaic periods. This place was also listed on the National Register of Historic Places, in 1991.

The Crofton Country Club
is a great recreational place, for all ages and purposes. Golf passionates will find this club particularly appealing, because it offers an elegant 18-hole regulation length golf course. Everyone can enjoy a nice day here. If you do not know how to play, you can always enjoy the surroundings or the other features that the club offers.
