A beautiful city in Indiana, Crown Point was incorporated in 1868, after the establishment of the Robinson family on October 31, 1834, in this place. In present times, Crown Point is the county seat of Lake County. The city is pretty large, 27.000 residents in an area of 17 squared miles, living in 18 neighborhoods of Crown Point. Downtown Square Crown Point is the place where you can admire all the historical buildings of this beautiful town. The storefronts line the streets of the square and make a lovely picture of what old Crown Point used to look like.

The Carnegie Center is the old Crown Point Library and it was build using a grant from the Carnegie Foundation. The building, since the beginning of the 20th century, looks perfect among the other architectural jewels of Downtowns Square. The Carnegie Center is fully made on a bricks structure and is located on in the south of the square, on 223 South Main Street. In present times, this is the meeting place for a fraternity.

The Sheriff's House is another historical building from Crown Point. It was built in 1882 and served as home for sheriffs of Crown Point for 76 years in a row. The front of the building was used by sheriffs to live in it and the back of the building served as a jail for Lake County. This is the prison where John Dilinger made his great escape in the early 30s.

The People's Bank is a building since 1910 with a great limestone exterior. The bank was closed during the depression and is now the home of Northern Indiana Arts Association.
