Fort Jackson is a United States installation where TRADOC operates on for Basic Combat Training and is located in the state of South Carolina. This installation is named after the American president Andrew Jackson. Fort Jackson was created in 1917 as the United States entered World War I. After the war, Fort Jackson was shut down and the Camp was abandoned, but it was reactivated for the Second World War. Located in the heart of the midlands of South Carolina State, Fort Jackson was incorporated into the city of Columbia in 1968 and it is midway between New York and Miami.
