Gardner is a great city located in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States of America. The history of Gardner begins in 1764 when a small community was settled in this area. In 1785 Gardner was officially incorporated as a town, receiving its name in honor of colonel Thomas Gardner. Since the beginning of the 19th century, the city is famous for the furniture industry it hosts, this is why Gardner is also called Chair City and The Furniture Capital of New England. According to recent statistics, Gardner has a population of approximately 20.000 people and an area of 23 square miles. Gardner Library
is the first public library that opened in town and has a history of more than a century. The library is so successful that in the recent years, the city of Gardner spent more than half a million dollars investing in new books.

Mount Wachusett College
is a two year college located within Gardner. The motto of the educational institution is Start near... Go far! and it first opened in 1963. Nowadays, Mount Wachusett offers associate degrees and transfer programs. MWCC offers degrees in sciences and arts. In the spring of 2007, the college won the Chill-Out Campus Solutions to Global Warming competition thanks to the new ideas of use of the renewable energy the students proposed.

Dunn State Park
is located in Gardner on a land donated by John Ainsworth Dunn in 1915. He had a furniture company in Gardner, but during the Great Depression, his business closed. The park has 119 acres and has a lot of recreation opportunities. It includes picnic areas, playgrounds and even a pond where you can swim, near to a field which is great for playing sports and exercising. If you need to relax in the middle of the nature, this is the perfect place to do it.
