Lemoyne has a total area of 1.6 square miles, over which lives a population of around 3,900 residents, the 2000 census showed. Lemoyne was incorporated as a borough only in 1905, although its history begins years sooner. For a period in its history, Lemoyne has actually been well known under the name of Bridgeport, mostly due to its location across the Susquehanna River.
