Mepkin Abbey Botanical Garden lies on 3.200 acres in Moncks Corner and is a great natural area and a botanical garden. Excepting Mondays, this great attraction is always opened to tourists and locals. The area was the Mepkin Plantation, but the house burned down in the Civil War. The gardens, as it can be seen in present were arranged at the desire of publisher Henry R. Luce and his wife Clara Boothe Luce, who are also buried within the area. The beautiful location is filled with live oaks and also has a great camellia garden. The landcape architect was Loutrel Briggs.

Cypress Gardens are located in Moncks Corner on an area of 170 acres and are opened all year, except Christmas and New Year's Day. Berkeley County is the manager of the beautiful attraction that includes swamps and planting of azaleas, daffodils, redbud. You can also see a little rice field here.

Mepkin Abbey is a monastery located within Moncks Corner on an area that was the estate of famous families. The Trappist monks used the building as their home and also founded a graveyard where several former residents of the building are buried, including Henry R. Luce and his wife.
