Morton Pumpkin Festival is held in the village since 1976, but prior to that year, similar events were celebrated. Schwab - Powell Building or Powell Press Building is located near Morton and is the oldest structure still standing in Peoria. It was raised in 1852 and now is a landmark of the area. It can be visited and wonderful tours are available.
