North Charleroi is a small, yet very charming borough in Washington County, Pennsylvania, with a total population of 1049 residents at the 2000 census. North Charleroi is also known as Lock 4. Previously Lock and Dam number 4 was located on this side of the Monongahela River, and the place had this name. Lock and Dam 4 was later relocated further upstream on the other side of the Charleroi Bridge. Although it is a small city, tourists are offered wonderful attractions in and around North Charleroi.
