Northampton is a city located in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, United States of America. Northampton is the county seat and occupies a part of the Pioneer Valley. "The Meadow City", "Hamp", "NoHo", "NTown" and "Paradise City" are nicknames Northampton got throughout the years. The motto of the town is "Caritas, educatio, justitia" - the Latin for "Caring, education, justice". Northampton was settled in the mid 17th century - in 1654 and was incorporated as a city more than 200 years later - just in 1884. Notable former or present residents include children's author Jeanne Birdsall, author William Cullen Bryant, actress Galaxy Craze, economist Herbert Gintis, musician Dar Williams and filmmaker Jeff Zimbalist.

First Church
is located on the Main Street of Northampton. This was one of the first churches raised in town and also the home church of Jonathan Edwards. He was an 18th century theologian. The building is an important landmark of the city.

Look Park
is a park situated on a land of more than 150 acres within Northampton. The recreational park opened more than 80 years ago and can be visited by foot or on bicycle. In the middle of the park is a great amphitheater used for concerts.

Forbes Library
is the public library of Northampton. It is hosted in a building raised in 1894. The library also has a collection named Calvin Coolidge Presidential Library, located on the second floor.

Thornes Marketplace

The Academy of Music
