Northbrook is a beautiful village located in Cook County, Illinois, United States of America. Northbrook is a suburb of Chicago and has a population of approximately 33.000 people living on an area of 13 square miles. The area of Northbrook was previously inhabited by Potawomi Indians, but in 1833, this village was settled. Joel Sterling Sherman together with his family soon moved here, so, in the beginning, the community was named Shermerville. In 1901, Northbrook was finally incorporated as a village. Notable past or present residents of the village include comedian Scott Adsit, hockey player Mike Brown, skaters Anne Henning and Dianne Holum, director John Hughes and American Idol contestant John Park.
