Norwalk is a small, yet very charming city in the state of Connecticut, with a population of 85.603 residents, as of the 2010 census. The name Norwalk comes from the Native American name Naramauke, meaning 'point of land'. Norwalk is also known as the Oyster Town, since the farming of oysters has long been important to the development of the city. Norwalk was purchased in 1640 by Roger Ludlow and it included the land between the Norwalk and Saugatuck Rivers. Although it is a small city, it has a lot of wonderful attractions to offer its tourists.
