Selma is a city located in Alabama on the banks of the Alabama River in Dallas County. The population of the city was 20,512 according to the 2000 census. The city has risen to international recognition thanks to the Selma and Montgomery marches and other civil rights marches. History records prove that the city was called Ecor Bienville in 1732.

1. Visit Edmund Pettus Bridge: The bridge has been in the news for being a site of conflict in the Bloody Sunday of 1965. The bridge is built over the Alabama River. The bridge is named after Brigadier General Edmund Winston Pettus.

2. Selma Art Guild Gallery: This forum is meant for encouraging the hard work and products of potters and other artists. This is implemented in the form of an exhibition where products of different types are put on display.

3. Do not forget to visit Old Cahawba Archaeological Park: The Park houses some of the thrilling facts about bygone events. It is believed that ghost stories can be validated in this park. Facilities include welcome programs, picnic areas, hiking trails, historic ruins and nature walks. One of the special highlights is the easy access for physically impaired people.

4. Explore Sturdivant Hall Museum: The museum operates a mansion and museum building. The mansion was erected in 1853 and has been used ever since to help raise funds for the needy.
