Sulphur is actually considered to be a suburb of the beautiful city Lake Charles. Sulphur was first settled in the 1900s. The house which currently hosts the museum was built in 1915. The museum first opened in 1976. However, this is not the only museum in the city created with the purpose to preserve the heritage of this area. The Sulphur Historical Society Museum should also be included into your route.
