3. Silver Falls State Park: If you want to see a waterfall, this is the place to be. Silver Falls State Park is the biggest state park in the state, and it holds not one but ten waterfalls, making it a truly unforgettable trip for all who visit.

4. Philip Foster's Farm: See the sight that pioneers nearing the end of the Oregon Trail took in gratefully as they came over Mount Hood. Foster's house and barn are still there, as well as his wife's lilac tree. Come for the Cider Squeeze in the fall and make your own cider!

5. Go antiquing: Two nearby towns, Aurora and Lafayette, have spectacular antique districts that you can explore at your leisure. Take a day to drive up the highway, stop in at some shops, and maybe find a treasure or two.
