Then spend an evening atThe Hollywood Bowlfor extraordinary music, dance, and film, fine dining under the stars, and of course, spectacular fireworks. Hollywood also has a popular upscale bowling alley lounge and a six screen art cinema next to the world renowned Grauman's Chinese Theater. Home to the Forecourt of the Stars, this famous Hollywood theater is filled with exotic art from China. Since 1927, millions of movie goers have frequented this theater with a 90 feet tall, jade colored roof.

Another must is the Getty Museum (left), a beautifully maintained art museum with an impressive collection of works by renowned artists. It's a winner amongst even the biggest art haters and the grounds are impeccable, worthy of a lazy afternoon lay about.

Take a breather

For a lovely scenic drive of Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley, head to Mulholland Drive. Or go for a spin around Santa Monica, it's got a great landscape.

Check out the fauna at Los Angeles Zoo. Then, for some flora, head to what's possibly the best botanical collection in the US, the Mildred E Mathias Botanical Garden - Located on the beautiful campus of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The original Los Angeles Farmers Market has great international cuisine and a wide range of gifts from around the world. This is also a good place to go celeb spotting!

The Venice Beach Boardwalk is packed with great shopping, arts, artists, performers and other entertainment, within walking- distance of the beach (above).
