Some general travel tips for going out and about are always good to know when you are visiting somewhere new. Here are some top tips:
Types of Clothing - Ensure that you have packed for all weathers including a rainmac and sunhat. It does still rain in the United States and you need to be prepared for any type of weather!.
Dangerous Wildlife - Try to become aware of the wildlife in your chosen area. Crocodilles, Alliagtors and poisionous snakes are all too often around. Check for the relevant warning signs and pay heed to them.
Water - Make sure that you always carry water with you especially in the hot and humid tempartures you may come across. As a guide, you should drink one litre of water per hour to avoid dehydration.
Supplies - Seems obvious, but make sure you have enough supplies for your trip. To include petrol, oil, water, food and drinks. You never know where you may be ending up!.
Navigation - As most cars don't have the luxury of Sat Nav, a good old fashioned map is required. Ensure the map is up to date and try to plan your route out beforehand if possible. An excellent resource for this is Googlemaps. Just put in your origin and destination and you get a step by step instruction on how to get to where you are going includng a nice map!
Keep in contact - Make sure other people know where you are and where you heading to. Use the phone and e-mail to advise your loved ones and friends of your whereabouts as often as possible.
Most of all enjoy your trip and happy traveling!
