Excelsior Springs, Missouri is approximately 30 minutes from downtown Kansas City, Missouri.  This 9.8 square mile city is situated in two counties, Clay and Ray counties, along the East Fork Fishing River.  The town that over 125 years ago attracted people wanting to investigate the healing power of the spring water, continues to draw people to its abundant history and tradition.

2.  Visit the Elms Resort and Spa: This 19 century Tudor style resort is a landmark in Excelsior Springs and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. 4.  Tour the Hall of Waters & Cultural Museum: This art deco style building was originally constructed in 1937 to bottle 5 different kinds of mineral water and ship it all over the world.  Adjacent buildings were also constructed which included a pool and a hydrotherapy department to explore the healing powers of the water. Bottling is no longer performed her but you can sample the spring water that originally made Excelsior Springs famous. A spa which offers hydrotherapy and massages is also available at this site.

5.  Spend the night at The Inn at Crescent Lake: This beautiful Georgian Colonial style bed and breakfast was built in 1915.
