Glen Ellyn is a village in DuPage County, Illinois with a population of just under 27,000 in the year 2000 census. The village has had its name changed often since 1834, when the first landowner, Deacon Winslow Churchill arrived here from New York. A tavern was later built here, which became a stagecoach stop and then came the railroad and from there the village progressed.
