The balloon nigh glow is the final moment of the festival, when all pilots stand next to their balloons, the balloons are inflated and their torches are lighted for everyone to admire.

Howell Melon Festival is held each year in August and is celebrating a cantaloupe hybrid that can only grow in this region of Michigan.
