Sister Mary Grace Burns Arboretum is a park that was initially build for the winter home of George Jay Gould, the son of a railroad millionaire. The arboretum was designed by architect Bruce Price, who had the difficult task to design a replica of a Georgian country manor. He designed three gardens of this attraction – the Italian Garden, the Sunken Garden and the Formal Garden. Japanese architect Takeo Shiota designed later the Japanese Garden.
