Paris is located in the Bourbon County, in the State of Kentucky. As the county seat, Paris has a growing population of approximately 8,555 inhabitants. The city of Paris is part of the major Lexington-Fayette Metropolitan Statistical Area. Paris was established in 1775, under the name of Hopewell, and was renamed in 1790, in honor of the Revolutionary War French assistance.
