Am I able to return my rental car if the depot is closed?

Generally, our suppliers will allow you to return your rental car after business hours. You will need to pre-arrange this with the depot, and you will need to be familiar with their specific policies. Most commonly, airport locations allow out-of-hours returns.

Some locations, such as regional depots, may require that the car is returned during business hours only, as they may not have the facilities to allow out-of-hours returns. Each depot has different policies. 

You will need to return the keys to a designated service box. Make sure you have locked the car, and taken all of your belongings with you. It is important to note that your vehicle will not be checked for damage until the next business day, meaning you will still be responsible for any damage that occurs.

Alice and her family have finished their family road trip, and are hoping to return their vehicle after hours to the local depot in Charleston. The downtown depot does not allow late returns, so Alice decides instead to return the vehicle to the airport and leave the keys in the designated box. Because the airport is not where she picked up the car, a one-way fee will also apply.
