Howell Melon Festival is held each year in August and is celebrating a cantaloupe hybrid that can only grow in this region of Michigan. Howell Opera House is one historic building located downtown Howell since 1881. The building was restored in 2007 and is considered a very important landmark.
Howell Carnegie District Library exists since 1875, although at first, it was opened in a rented house.
