1. Visit the Natural History Museum (University of Kansas): This is the place where tourists can get to watch the various natural beauties of Kansas. The museum is located in the Dyche Hall of the University of Kansas. Covering the top three floors of the building, the museum has displays featuring various animals and plants on the third floor, a skeleton of a dinosaur on the fourth floor and the sixth floor is full of mammals and birds native to the surrounding areas.  

2. Spend some time at the Clinton Lake State Park: Covering an area of about 7,000 acres, the park offers visitors a lot of fun. Visitors can enjoy water skiing, sailing and even indulge in some sport fishing.

3. Go to the Spencer Museum of Art: Striving to collect as much history as possible, the museum currently has seven galleries that exhibit more than 18,000 incredible pieces of art. The various Japanese prints and paintings are the central attraction of the museum.  

4. Have a day out at the Lawrence Riverfront Plaza: Full of shops, this is a four story building that overlooks the Kansas River. Most of the shops presented here are factory outlets offering many ways for shoppers to save a lot of money on many nationally renowned products.

5. Visit the Bowersock Dam: Providing Hydropower to the Kansas City, the dam was built in 1874 by the Lawrence Land and Water Company.
