Lake Travis is a reservoir of Colorado River, formed in 1942, at the same time with the construction of Mansfield Dam. Lake Travis occupies an important area of Travis County and of Burnet County. The lake has a surface of almost 19.000 acres and a maximum depth of 210 feet. It is used for water supply, electrical generation, flood control, but also recreation. A lot of tourists come to Lakeway just for this attraction, as Lake Travis is a great place for fishing, boating, swimming and diving. Also, it is a family favorite for camping and picnics.

Live Oak at the Clubs of Lakeway is the name of a golf club located near the city. The 18-hole course is a favorite of locals and tourists, because the place is great and the surroundings are absolutely amazing.

Angel's Icehouse is a great indoor ice rink located within Lakeway. The rink is a hot spot of the city and being the only one, it is always filled with kids and adults eager to learn new moves on the ice.
